Quick fixes AG-T003

Paste the exact error, not your summary of it

Shared methods · A shared method; linked tool guides explain the exact steps.

"It doesn't work" starts a guessing game. The exact message, or a screenshot, starts a diagnosis — the difference is one paste.

Quick fix: Paste the exact error, not your summary of it

Instead of I'm getting some kind of permissions error when I try to save.

Try When I click save, this appears: [exact message, pasted]. It started after [what changed]. What is it telling me?

For anything on screen that will not copy as text: screenshot it and attach that.

Why this works

Error messages are written to be diagnostic: the code, the path, the name in them is often the entire answer. A paraphrase strips exactly those identifiers and keeps only the emotional summary ("some kind of permissions thing"), leaving the model to enumerate every error your words could mean. That produces the five-possibilities answer that helps nobody. The exact text collapses the search to one; "what changed just before" collapses the cause the same way.

When this applies

Anything failed and you are about to type your impression of the failure: software errors, form rejections, a letter you do not understand, a device complaining in a language of its own.

Template

Exact message: [paste or screenshot]. What I was doing: [one sentence]. What changed recently: [one sentence, or "nothing I know of"].

Go deeper

The same evidence-beats-description rule as attaching the file, applied to failures. For code, the full method — reproduce, isolate, then ask — is the debugging workflow, where the exact-error paste is step one of a longer discipline.
