What changed between model versions

Every line here is a comparison between two records in this site's model data — the same source the model matrix is generated from. When a new model ships, this page updates on the next build; nothing here can go stale without the matrix going stale with it.

What these changes mean in practice is covered in thinking and effort and the caching guide — the two places where a model migration breaks running code.

Claude Opus 4.8 → Claude Opus 5

• Thinking mode "adaptive-opt-in" → "adaptive-default"
